Job Description
The Department of Humanities in the School of Arts and Social Sciencesat CBU invites applications for two tenure-track position in Legal, Ethical Health Care and Critical Thinking. at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will commence July 1st, 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter).

The successful candidates will be required to participate fully in the collegiate life of the university by accepting departmental administrative duties and participating on university-wide committees and governance bodies.
In addition to superlative teaching skills, the successful candidate must also possess a well-defined research program, as demonstrated by conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications and successful grant applications.

The search committee will rank very highly candidates who demonstrate flexibility and range in a secondary area of teaching and are committed to innovative forms of pedagogy. Courses in the secondary area of teaching may focus on at least one of the following areas: Environmental Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, Applied Ethics, Metaphysics, or Gender and Women’s Studies.



Required Qualifications
The successful candidates must possess a PhD in Philosophy. Exceptional candidates with an imminent PhD defence date and/or a PhD in a closely related scholarly discipline may also be considered. Previous teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level and a willingness to teach in closely related areas of study are a strong preference.
