Job Description | The Department of Education in the School of Education and Health at CBU invites applications for a tenure-track position (Subject to Budget Approval) in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Decolonization (EDIAD) at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will commence January 1, 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Decolonization (EDIAD) in educational theory and praxis. Utilizing a culturally responsive, decolonizing, and inclusive pedagogical framework, the candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of expertise. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain a robust research program and assume educational leadership responsibilities, such as curriculum development, evaluation, innovation, course coordination, graduate teaching assistant supervision, thesis supervision, and other leadership roles. The union affiliation of this position is with the Cape Breton University Faculty Association. |
Required Qualifications | Candidates should have a relevant terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.). Candidates who are in the later stages of their doctorate may be considered with the successful completion of the doctorate being a condition of employment. |
Preferred Qualifications | Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to and expertise in EDIAD course design, research endeavours, and teaching. Teaching experience at the K-12 level and experience with face-to-face and online teaching modes are preferred. |
